Lizzie Klotz is a dance artist, choreographer, facilitator and producer based in Gateshead, UK.

Rooted in dance, Lizzie’s work moves between performance, participation and socially engaged practice across theatres, outdoors, galleries and film in local, national and international contexts.

She creates work through inclusive and collaborative processes that bring together professional and non-professional performers of different ages, backgrounds and experiences to create accessible and meaningful experiences for participants and audiences alike.

What connects all of Lizzie’s work is a commitment to care, listening and joy — creating spaces where people feel seen, valued and connected to their own power.

Collaboration sits at the heart of her practice, including working with theatre-maker Luca Rutherford since 2018. Most recently, Lizzie and Luca were commissioned by TeesDance and Stockton International Riverside Festival to create the outdoor dance work The Fabric of Us, which is being redeveloped with communities in Newcastle upon Tyne through NOVUM ahead of performances in August 2026.

Lizzie’s recent projects include Abundance, an intergenerational performance and installation exploring rest, softness and connection through dance, text, sound and sculptural environments. The project continues to evolve through a 10-week gallery installation with The NewBridge Project, opening in June 2026.

Alongside her artistic practice, Lizzie self-produces her own work while also producing and supporting projects across dance, outdoor arts, education and community settings with artists and organisations including Curious Arts, Festival of Thrift, Jack Drum Arts, Society of Strays, and Hadrian’s Wall 1900 Festival.

Lizzie’s work has been commissioned and presented locally, nationally and internationally by organisations including Dance City, The Place, ARC Stockton, The NewBridge Project, Yorkshire Dance, Cambridge Junction, Tyneside Cinema, Channel 4 and Valletta European Capital of Culture 2018.
